Our Curriculum: Illustrative Mathematics (IM)
Curriculum Review:
Materials consistently provide students with opportunities to work with mathematical language and collaborate with peers through instructional routines and a commitment to making connections between content and lessons. Teachers are well-supported to implement instructional strategies, as the Teacher Guide contains narratives that explain the vertical alignment of lessons and includes supports to help teachers scaffold lessons and interpret student work. While the materials provide ample support for English learners and students with disabilities, they do not adequately represent and value diverse cultures and perspectives
- EdReports gives IM its highest rating: McGraw-Hill Illustrative Mathematics 6-8 Math (2020) (edreports.org)
- The Massachusetts CURATE System, CURATE Reports - Illustrative Mathematics (Kendall-Hunt, 2019) (mass.edu), says:
